Exploring femininity and intimacy with her A/W 19 collection, Simone Rocha, London based Irish fashion designer, followed with a launch of a self-published book on October 5.
Photographed by Harley Weir, the book encompasses concepts behind Simone’s designs which are a study of female eroticism, adding it a layer of intimacy by focusing on specific body parts and features and exposing the privacy of the models. Characteristic to Simone, the designs look into the tension of women being an object of desire, and wanting to own it and direct it. The fabrics made in collaboration with Louise Bourgeois studio, are a direct inspiration from Louise’s clothes, whose artworks are included in the book, and they complement different generations of women models, contrasting the timeless beauty with youthful feminine faces.
The Simone Rocha A/W 19 book is a limited edition publication available at Dover Street Market London, and Simone Rocha stores worldwide.
